LEV Unit Roof Repair.
The top of the asset (a local exhaust ventilation unit) had been left exposed to the elements without sufficient protection for a number of years. This resulted in severe localised corrosion and in some cases through-wall defects, leading to soaking of the internal filters.
The substrate was prepared as per SSPC-SP3 standard, using an MBX Bristle Blaster to remove any loose rust and provide a surface profile for mechanical adhesion.
Belzona 1161 (Super UW-Metal) was used to pit fill in conjunction with Aluminium plates and Belzona 9361 (Reinforcement Tape). Once cured, Belzona 5831 (ST-Barrier) was used as a topcoat to seal the entirety of the roof area.
